Many candidates are of an excellent standard, so we do reject a large amount of suitably qualified candidates at interview — as a guide, we make about offers and interview approximately 1, people for the A 5 year MB BS programme and about offers and interview approximately people for the A 5 year BDS programme, so a large number of students will be disappointed.
We are unable to provide written feedback to applicants who are rejected prior to interview. We are able to provide brief feedback to applicants who were unsuccessful after the interview stage but this will not be personal feedback. Please be aware that we need this request in writing, and that due to the busy nature of the admissions office it can take up to 20 working days to respond. Candidates who are just below our interview cut off score will be placed on our waiting list and will be notified by a separate email.
The waiting list is still to be viewed as an official rejection by UCAS. There is no need to send us any further supporting documents and we contact you if we have places available. We cannot guarantee we will be able to offer you a place on the course so if you receive an offer from any other University you should accept it. This refers to your fee status, as International and Home students pay different fees.

This is through assessing the main components from your application:. It might sound obvious, but only those who are shortlisted get an Interview, there are no exceptions to this.
Oxbridge Interviews are held in December, although some Oxbridge applicants may be invited back in January for a second round of Interviews at another college. You will find out if you need to be interviewed in January after the decisions are out. Your invitation will likely come from the college you applied to but if you submitted an open application, the letter or email will be sent from the college you have now been allocated to.
Make sure you are aware of any at-Interview Assessments. Cambridge has a list of all at-Interview Assessments for each subject here. For Oxford, read through the relevant course page to see if you will need to sit a pre-Interview Assessment. Interviews by the Colleges take place in December. For Oxford, the dates have not been posted so it is worth getting in touch with their Admissions Office to see when they are.
The Interviews will usually take place at the college you applied to but currently they are all online. Oxford use Microsoft Teams for their online Interviews, so make sure you have all systems in place so the Interview runs smoothly, such as having the necessary technology.
